What is the role of memory in the processes of recognition, dialogue, and transformation of territories?

With the patronage of the municipality of Giuggianello and in collaboration with the Centre for social culture and archaeological, historical, and environmental research.

In the new appointment of the “Building Communities” series, titled “Memory, identity, and the coexistence of cultures,” together with our experts, we will reflect on:

• How collective memory can become a space for encounter and dialogue between different cultures, both those newly ‘acquired’ and those rooted for a longer time in the cultural stratification of a territory;
• Its role in regenerating social ties and strengthening the sense of belonging;
• How to transform it into a driving force for shared planning for communities.

Following the discussion, we will present the special issue ECOMUSEI n.1/2025 of the journal DADA. Rivista di Antropologia post globale with the editors.
