LAHTI
Laboratory for Advanced Human-Technology Interaction

The Laboratory for Advanced Human-Technology Interaction (LAHTI) collects multiple research activities focused on the utilization of digital technologies, its effects on cognition and behavior, and the development of opportunities and tools based on new technologies for the promotion of health, well-being and education.

Currently the researchers involved in LAHTI are working on four main areas:

  • New technologies for the promotion of moral cognition and prosocial behavior, namely the utilization of immersive environments to promote transformative emotions (awe, elevation) to improve morality, as well as to simulate social interaction and foster moral reasoning
  • Analysis of risks and opportunities to support educational activities with immersive digital environment and interactive digital storytelling (including the psychology of video games)
  • The study of the expression of identity and the development of psychological assessment based on avatars or the digital renditions of human users within virtual environments
  • The study of the interaction with autonomous agents and artificial intelligence, and the factors that facilitate or inhibits acceptance of AI within educational and professional contexts
