Giuliano Cenati, PhD, is associate professor of Italian Literature at Pegaso Online University. He mainly studies modern and contemporary Italian fiction, considered in all its sociocultural manifestations, from entertainment to experimentalism to mixed genres, with particular attention to comics and short forms. He authored monographs on the Italian experimental writers Carlo Emilio Gadda and Vittorio Imbriani, and Figure da leggere (Figures to read, Mimesis, 2023; “Franco Fossati” Prize 2024) on the genres and practices of comics in Italy from the 1930s to the age of the graphic novel.
